Biden marks 50th year of first wife and daughter's deaths

President Joe Biden and his family held a private memorial service Sunday to mark the 50th anniversary of the car crash that killed his first wife and their baby daughter.

He had just joined the Senate and was not with his wife Neilia, 30 and daughter Naomi, 1 when a tractor tailor collided with their vehicle, killing them both.

To honor their memory, the family carried 2 wreaths from the St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church in Delaware. Biden married the former Jill Jacobs in 1977 and along with their daughter, Ashley she raised Mr.Biden's 2 sonsbeau and Hunter as her own. Mrs. Biden was by her husband's side at the graveyard.

Ashley and Hunter and many of the president’s grandchildren joined the FLOTUS and POTUS at the ceremony.
